Kaituna and Rangitikei Rivers - SOURCE Catchment Models
WWLA were commissioned to develop a daily hydrological and water quality simulation model using the SOURCE modelling framework from eWater Australia. The model was required to support review of regional policy underpinning management of land and water resources within the two catchments. The project utilised WWLA's Soil Moisture Water Balance with Vadose Zone functionality (SMWBM_VZ) to account for simulation of the lag in rainfall recharge and nitrogen leaching. The project was a joint collaborative effort between BOPRC and WWLA staff.
