Graduate Hydrologist
We are seeking University Graduates with a BSc, BEng or higher degree. The successful candidate will undertake data analysis and environmental modelling, with field-based investigations and monitoring from time to time. As your skill level increases you will be given opportunities to liaise with clients, prepare reports, and manage projects.
Key Attributes for a successful candidate
Tertiary academic training (M.Sc. or B.Eng (hons) preferred) in hydrology and/or stormwater engineering;
Strong practical skills gained from a love of the outdoors;
A keen inquisitive mind and aptitude towards understanding cause and effect.
Strong interest in computer modelling (desirable).
Coding using Python, R, VB.Net or C# (desirable).

Specific skills required for this role include the following:
High-level interpersonal skills;
Excellent written and spoken English;
Environmental field investigations including water quantity and quality monitoring;
Data processing using MS Excel;
GIS mapping using QGIS;
Stream flow gauging;
Surface water flow and quality modelling experience;
Water quality monitoring and analysis;
Stormwater analysis and system design;
Modelling (what-if) impact assessment of land use change;
Data automation using Python, R and/or Visual Studio (C#, VB) would be an advantage;
Preparation of water-related RMA planning applications.
On-the-job training and support will be provided by experienced staff at WWLA.
