Sustainable Buildings - Climate Adaptation

As climate change accelerates, bringing rising temperatures and more frequent extreme weather events, “resilience” is becoming an increasingly important design parameter of new developments.  Responding to growing demand for healthier, more sustainable, and productive environments requires innovative forward-thinking solutions that ensure long-term asset protection through adaptability to climate change.

Williamson Water & Land Advisory’s (WWLA) expert team takes pride in offering tailored technical expertise in climate adaptation risk assessments along with effective collaboration with our clients, to develop future-ready buildings with optimised building design for resilience that will provide a lifespan of 50 years or more.  Our team also assists clients with refurbishment projects, upgrading existing buildings, adapting and providing resilience to the changing environment over their design life.

WWLA is extremely proud to have helped numerous clients across New Zealand, such as office and logistics developers Goodman, Auckland International Airport, James Kirkpatrick Group and Mansons TCLM achieve the adaptation/ resilience credits outlined across the various Green Star rating systems.

Wendi, our Senior Environmental Specialist, brings 30 years of experience in environmental science, earth sciences, and climate risk assessment for land development.  Wendi is supported by PhD Scientist Aimee Wansbone.  Together, their practical, solution-oriented approach has supported Green Star applications since 2007, with a focus on adaptation, sustainable development, and environmental management.
