Project Overview

WWLA was engaged as the Owners’ Engineer for a significant $4.4 million irrigation development on a 557-hectare dairy farm. The project, managed under an NZS3916 Design and Construct Contract, aimed to install a comprehensive centre pivot irrigation system.

Technical Solutions

The scheme’s infrastructure featured two main river pump stations feeding a total of 11 centre pivot irrigators. A large distribution network was installed, comprising approximately 19km of PVC pressure pipe with diameters ranging from 100 mm to 500 mm.

By having WWLA act as the Owners’ Engineer, the client received expert technical oversight and contract administration, ensuring their interests were protected throughout the design and construction process. The final outcome was the successful delivery of a large-scale, operational irrigation system tailored to the farm’s needs.
