Nicola Cowley
Principal Planner
Nicola is a Principal Planner at WWLA, and joined the company in September 2023. She has 26 years planning experience both in New Zealand and the UK.
Nicola holds a Bachelor of Resource and Environmental Studies (Hons) from Massey University and a Bachelor of Arts (Archaeological Studies) from the University of Kent in the UK.
Nicola has been involved in a wide range of resource consent projects, including large scale residential, subdivision, industrial, commercial and rural developments. Nicola has prepared expert evidence and has appeared as a witness in the Environment Court and at Council resource consent hearings. In addition, Nicola has experience in providing advice to clients on policy matters including notice of requirements, preparing submissions to plan changes and has appeared at Council plan change hearings.
Nicola enjoys working as part of a multidisciplinary team on resource consent projects to put together a comprehensive application and to deliver a quality result for the client.
When not working, Nicola enjoys spending time with her family, playing badminton or working as a volunteer horse carer at Riding for the Disabled.
