
Barbara Tasca
Hydrologist
Barbara joined WWLA in September 2025 as a Hydrologist. She holds a bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering, a master’s degree in environmental physics, and postgraduate specialisation in Urban Development.
Originally from Brazil, Barbara has more than eight years of experience as an Environmental Engineer. She has worked on a variety of projects, undertaking environmental impact assessments, climate risk analysis, hydrological studies, and technical investigations of environmental breaches. She is proficient in Esri’s ArcGIS ecosystem, QGIS, R programming, UAV/remote sensing applications, and geostatistical analysis.
Barbara has also conducted extensive academic research and published scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals. She also contributed to the Água para o Futuro project (a project to identify, monitor and protect urban springs) where her GIS-based methodology for spring identification was documented in a book chapter and has since been applied in several Brazilian states.
In her free time, Barbara enjoys reading, mixing music, hiking, and exploring new places. She also values continuous learning and building connections with people.
