Max McKellar
Graduate Environmental Scientist
Max joined the WWLA team in September 2026 as a Graduate Environmental Scientist.
Max has a Master’s in Environmental Science (with Distinction), from the University of Canterbury, where he focused his research on agricultural soil remediation. During his thesis, he also gained great practical experience working under a scholarship with Babbage Consultants.
A natural collaborator and creative problem-solver, Max is deeply interested in environmental challenges of current day-in-age, including reducing environmental pollution, ecological restoration and climate change mitigation.
He brings a great analytical mindset to the team, particularly in experimental design and statistical analysis and is currently eager to get stuck into fieldwork, honing his soil profiling techniques, and further developing his GIS skills.
Outside of work Max is usually found enjoying the great outdoors. He is a keen diver and hiker, a history and natural science buff, and enjoys spending his downtime writing and practising his photography.
